During the next two years, each team will play a nine game schedule. Games will be played at opposite locations. 2016 home games becoming road games in 2017. The 2016 season kicks off on Thursday, August 25.

16 teams in each class will qualify for the post-season. The champion and second-place team from each district will qualify for the playoffs. For the classes with only seven districts, two wild-card qualifiers will be chosen to fill the 16-team playoff field.
