Cubs Are “Locked In” Among Surge Of New Energy With David Ross
Joe Maddon is out in Chicago, and we will always thank him for what he brought to the organization, multiple winning seasons and a 2016 world series championship for the first time in 108 years. He will go down as one of the best cubs managers in club history. But, there's a new sheriff in town.
David Ross, former catcher for the Cubs, is in as manager and the players couldn't have asked for a better situation. Having played with a good number of them, Ross brings an element of relatability, drive, and understanding. According to Cubs infielder, Kris Bryant, the new surge of energy is palpable. “I wanted to run through a wall,” he said ,"Obviously I’ve played with him and seen the intensity, but to see how he is as a manager … I don’t even know how to describe it. It was one of the best speeches I’ve heard from anybody in this organization". This of course in reference to the speech Ross gave to the team, addressing goals for the upcoming season.
