An Independence man has been arrested on numerous charges of theft and burglary, from a string of incidents in Northeast Iowa.

Last month (March, 2018) the Independence Police Department, with assistance from the Buchanan County Sheriff, and Iowa State Patrol, executed several search warrants at the home and storage sheds being rented by 47 year old Jamie Reuther.

Officers recovered thousands of dollars worth of stolen items, from at least 15 victims.

As a result, Reuther is being charged with 5 counts of Theft in the 2nd Degree, 2 counts of Theft in the 3rd Degree, 2 counts of Theft in the 4th Degree, and 3 counts of Possession of Burglary Tools.

Reuther is being held in the Buchanan County jail on $125,000 bond.

Authorities are now attempting to return the stolen items to their owners.
The investigation continues.
