The Kindergarten Reading Program with the Cedar Falls Public Safety officers has been happening for the past 15 years and this year is no different... they aren't going to let a pandemic stop them!

According to KWWL, during April the Cedar Falls Public Safety department visits different area schools Kindergarten classes to read to them and do a book giveaway. They normally get a grant through Target and then hand out the books to the kids. This year they did get the grant but were unable to get the books to the kids due to the pandemic, however the officers are still reading to kindergartners via social media.

According to KWWL, the officers are using their Facebook page to read to Kindergartners to continue this tradition and help inspire young ones to read. It's a great way to keep kids entertained and still teach them the importance of reading at this time.
