Local Iowa hero Carson King will join the fun at the "Hometown Heroes" concert featuring Bret Michaels on Saturday, November 9th, at the U.S. Cellular Center in Cedar Rapids.

The is great news for all of us here in Eastern Iowa! It's such a perfect fit to have our very own hometown hero in town for this great night of entertainment and fun. The "Hometown Heroes Tour" partners with radio stations in each market for a contest to recognize local heroes in the community.

Heroes can be anyone who makes a difference in the lives of the communities they serve or in recognition of a heroic act. Members of the community can nominate their local heroes by clicking this link.

Carson King will be on stage to help us recognize these local heroes on Saturday, November 9th. Heroes can be police officers, paramedics, nurses, teachers, fire fighters, active military, veterans and first responders.

You can also nominate "forgotten" heroes including the people who provide service at local shelters and food banks, utility workers who keep water, power and gas on, often working in dangerous conditions and even the school crossing guards who protect children on a daily basis.

This will be so cool to have our heroes join Carson King onstage and get the rock star treatment they deserve. I promise this will be a great night of music and a fitting tribute for those who deserve it!

Also performing on the "Hometown Heroes" concert on November 9th will be Night Ranger, Lita Ford and country star Joe Nichols.
