Carrie Underwood’s ‘Some Hearts’ Certified Biggest-Selling Country Album This Century
On the heels of her CMA win for Female Vocalist of the Year and recognition as one of CMT's coveted Artists of the Year, Carrie Underwood continues to add new accolades to her resume. The singer's debut album, Some Hearts, has recently been recognized as the highest-selling album from any country artist to emerge since 2000.
According to a press release, Some Hearts recently went 8x Platinum. Underwood’s 2015 release, Storyteller, is now certified Platinum, while each of her other three studio albums have added multi-Platinum certifications. In addition to her 8x Platinum debut, Blown Away is now double Platinum, Play On is triple Platinum and Carnival Ride has been named 4x Platinum.
Underwood is also the current top country artist -- male or female -- on RIAA’s digital single ranking, with 28 million in sales. This recognition also places her within the Top 5 females in the history of the RIAA’s digital single program across all genres.
While Underwood's career is one that other artists marvel at, it is her home life with husband Mike Fisher that she strives to make a priority.
“It’s all about being supportive of one another,” Underwood tells Yahoo. “He’s my best friend and we love our family, that’s what it’s all about. We sacrifice for each other and compromise for each other and do our best to spend as much time as we possibly have with each other. It’s about putting your family and relationship first.”
