Brett Eldredge has been waiting his entire life to release a Christmas album, and that wish is very close to coming true. The "Wanna Be That Song" singer announced some big news this week on social media with the help of his puppy, Edgar.

"I've been waiting my whole life to record a certain kind of album. I told you I had big news today. I got big news," Eldredge says on Snapchat as he calls Edgar over to announce the news. "I'm gonna have a Christmas album coming out this year. I've been waiting my whole life and Edgar's excited. Look at him!"

While Edgar was asleep on the couch, Eldredge contained enough excitement for the both of them. The country star also released a two-minute video clip showing himself in the studio as he and a band recorded several holiday classics. A horn section accompanied by his deep vocals give the upcoming Christmas release a Frank Sinatra feel — the avid Sinatra fan can even be heard singing "Let It Snow! Let It Snow! Let It Snow!"

Shots pan to the sheet music of "O Holy Night" and "The First Noel." Eldredge learns that musicians from Bruce Springsteen's band, Sting's band and Prince's band are also assisting on the recording, much to his surprise.

"That's crazy! Needless to say, I'm overly excited about the opportunity to do that," he says.

"I’ve been inspired for this record from a very young age," he adds in an official press release. "I dreamt of the day I could record all these classic songs that I’ve loved since I was a little kid. I recorded those classics in New York City and tried to give a tip of the hat to the ones that came before me — Bing Crosby, Frank Sinatra, Dean Martin, Ray Charles — by adding that swing and that soul to the best of my ability. When it came to actually recording, I wanted to live in the experience. We hung Christmas lights in the studio in the middle of May and had musicians from the best bands in the world all in the same room — from horns to strings. Everyone was so inspired to make this classic record. I think it really shows in the songs and I can’t wait for people to hear that magic we found."

While an official track listing has yet to be released, the video teases that the album will feature "timeless classics and one original song!" The original is called "Glow."

Reba McEntire, Kacey Musgraves, Chris Young and Rascal Flatts will also release holiday albums this fall and winter.
