Waterloo starts out their weekend Friday night in Des Moines vs. the Buccaneers. Then they meet their arch-rivals, the Cedar Rapids RoughRiders Saturday night at the "Stable", followed by a Sunday matinee performance when they host Tri-City at 3:05pm in Young Arena!

There's a lot of fun stuff going on Sunday...and some great hockey too! Lego Batman will be in attendance to meet with fans, presented by US Bank. Fans will have the opportunity to win prizes throughout the game as we celebrate the 70th anniversary of Lego and the release of The Lego Movie 2: The Second Part! Stick around for a post-game skate and autograph session with the Black Hawks players (skates available while supplies last). Fans must register to get a wristband for the skate during the game. Take advantage of the Subway Combo Pack which includes 2 tickets, 2 Subway Combo Vouchers, 2 Chuck-a-Pucks, and 2 Programs for just $30. After the post-game skate, join the team at The Other Place on University. For tickets call the box office at 319-232-3444.

Waterloo Forward to be a Wolverine

Forward Emil Ohrvall became the third current Waterloo Black Hawks player to commit to the University of Michigan hockey program, revealing his choice to play for the Wolverines next fall.

Ohrvall joins Michigan natives Patrick Guzzo and Ethan Szmagaj in committing to the maize and blue. Twenty players currently in the Black Hawks’ lineup now have an NCAA Division I commitment. Michigan is the leading choice, ahead of three other programs which have each recruited two Black Hawks apiece.

This winter, Ohrvall is second in goals (21) and tied for second in points (43) on the team. He ranks among the United States Hockey League’s top ten (tied for fifth and tied for eighth, respectively) in both categories. The native of Sweden has recorded three hat tricks, most recently on January 24th versus the Omaha Lancers. Ohrvall spent last winter with the NCAA Division I Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute (RPI) Engineers; he had been a Black Hawk prior to that during the 2016/17 season.
