After a much delayed pre-season camp that started out with quarantining in an area hotel, followed by the disappointment of their first two home games being postponed, the members of the Black Hawks hockey team are more than ready for some real live action on the ice.

It certainly looks like "go time", as Waterloo hits the road this weekend to play their first three games of the new season within a three-day span. On Friday, they will finally begin the season, as they'll jump on the bus and head northwest to Sioux City to take on the Musketeers at 7:05. While they're there, they might as well play two, so the same two teams will meet up again on Saturday night as well. Then on Sunday, the Black Hawks will finish out their road trip by heading to Kearney, Nebraska, to play the Tri-City Storm at 4:05 p.m.

The Black Hawks will lead by 3rd year forward Wyatt Schingoethe. Plus, fans will have to get used to seeing a new name manning the crease. Goal tender Jack Williams, was acquired in a trade with Muskegon and brings some experience to the table. One of the biggest pieces of the puzzle to complete this year's team has not arrived. Veteran Forward Ondrej Pzenicka, from Prague, Czech Republic seems to be stuck in limbo trying to get into the U.S.

Hawks/Lancers Games Rescheduled

Last week it was announced that the home games at Young Arena scheduled for November 6th & 7th would have to be postponed because minimum standards were not met to play those contests. Those two games with the Omaha Lancers have been rescheduled after the beginning of 2021. Waterloo will host Omaha in on Tuesday, January 19th and Tuesday, March 9th. Both games will begin at 7:05 p.m.

According to a press release: All single-game tickets sold for the original November 6th and 7th dates are in the process of being refunded by the Black Hawks. Season ticket holders will be admitted to the makeup games as part of their ticket package.

Next Home Games?
The Black Hawks are scheduled to play their first home game on Wednesday, November 25th versus the Lincoln Stars. Tickets for that contest, as well as the team’s traditional Thanksgiving game the following night versus the Dubuque Fighting Saints are planned to go on sale at 2 p.m. on Wednesday, November 18th.
