A cat played a role in a one-vehicle accident that injured a Parkersburg teenager over the weekend.

According to the Iowa State Patrol, Nicolas Grill, 17, was driving eastbound on Iowa Highway 57 in Butler County when he turned to control an unrestrained cat and drove onto the shoulder. Troopers said Grill overcorrected and rolled the vehicle in a ditch. The car came to rest upright.

Grill suffered unspecified injuries in the accident, the Iowa State Patrol said. He was taken to the hospital in Grundy Center to be treated.

The crash happened just west of Parkersburg around 9:15 AM on Saturday (Aug. 25, 2015).
