Arrest Made for Sex Abuse and Transferring Disease

An investigation into a sexual abuse incident in Oelwein earlier this year, has now resulted in the arrest of a Hampton man.

The investigation began in March; details of that investigation were not released. An arrest warrant was then issued.

On Wednesday (May 4) the Hampton Police Department served the arrest warrant on 33 year old Ismael Alfaro of Hampton.

Alfaro is being charged with sexual abuse in the third degree which is a class "C" felony, and criminal transmission of an infectious disease, a class "B" felony.

Alfaro was transferred to the Fayette County jail in West Union, pending his initial court appearance.
