Area Man Makes Plea in Sex Abuse Investigation
A Northeast Iowa man has pleaded guilty to sexual abuse charges in connection with a 2015 investigation.
On Monday (Nov. 14) 39 year old Scott Franzen of St. Lucas submitted a guilty plea to 2 Felony Sexual Abuse Charges, stemming from a Fayette County investigation in 2015.
Franzen had been charged with Sexual Abuse in the 3rd Degree, a Class "C" Forcible Felony, and a 2nd count of Sexual Abuse in the 3rd Degree, a Class "C" Felony.
Last month, the Fayette County Sheriff completed an investigation of Franzen who was accused of sexually abusing a minor in April of 2015.
After pleading guilty Monday, Franzen was taken into custody at the Fayette County Courthouse in West Union, and is being held in the Fayette County Jail, pending his sentencing in about 6 weeks.
Franzen could face up to 20 years in prison.
