Another one of Iowa's top stars on the gridiron is leaving the program.

Defensive End AJ Epenesa forgoes his senior season and declares his intent to join the NFL. Per an Instagram post, Epenesa stated:

After a long discussion with my parents and loved ones I have decided to follow another childhood dream and enter into the 2020 NFL Draft

According to Bleacher Report, Epenesa was a 5-star recruit coming to Iowa out of high school in 2017, in 24/7 Sports' composite ratings.

In his final season as a Hawkeye, the 6'6" 285-lb. edge had 32 tackles, 11.5 sacks, and four forced fumbles. He will be missed at Iowa, where he showed mercy to opposing quarterbacks and will now look to do the same in the pros.
