Adventureland Will Celebrate 50 Years With Some Fun 2024 Events

Adventureland in Altoona turns 50 this year, and they're celebrating with all sorts of different activities!

Adventureland Theme Park is gearing up for an exciting season, officially opening its gates on Friday, May 18th. Just one week later, May 25th, the Adventure Bay water park will also open up for the summer!

Ahead of its 2024 season, Adventureland has already announced a few events that guests can take part in. Here are the activities that are on the schedule:

Storm the Park 5k

The Altoona Running Club will host the Storm the Park 5k on Saturday, May 18th beginning at 8 a.m. Runners "will take off from the carousel and weave through the park, take a quick exit through the front gates and loop around the campground and finally end up at the Adventureland Inn and Spectators Sports Bar for the finish line." Registration is $50 and includes a medal for finishing, a shirt, a free parking pass, and a single park entry for opening day. The Ruckus

The Ruckus is a country music festival that is moving to Adventureland from the Guthrie Center for 2024! It is scheduled for June 7th and 8th and will include performances from Chris Young, Brian Kelley, Jake Owen, Russell Dickerson, and more. In addition to the concerts, all festival tickets also include all-day access to Adventureland. You can purchase them online HERE.

Bernie’s Birthday Bash

Adventureland's mascot Bernie Bernard is celebrating his birthday Fridays & Saturdays in June beginning on the 14th! Guests can expect special entertainment and events for kids, plus meet & greets with Bernie himself!

Festival of Decades

In honor of Adventureland's 50th anniversary, the park will celebrate a different decade each Saturday in July and the first Saturday in August. The website reads:

"Each week, we'll shine a spotlight on the last five decades that have shaped the park's legacy. Enjoy specials and giveaways, along with musical acts highlighting a different decade every Saturday night followed by an all new light show and fireworks."

Speaking of fireworks, Adventureland will host a fireworks display on the 4th of July in 2024.

Oktoberfest

Adventureland Oktoberfest will return to the park on Saturday, September 14th. The all-day event, which is limited to ages 21 and up, features all sorts of food and beverages, several live music stages, games, competitions, and access to the rides! More details on tickets will become available as the event gets closer.

Phantom Fall Fest

Adventureland will become a Halloween wonderland on select weekend dates from September 21st through October 27th. The daytime is filled will fall fun for families, but at night, multiple haunted houses and scare zones open up. Prepare to be scared!
