Everyone is very protective of the state they were born and raised in. Something to remember when traveling to different states is that state originals can make fun of their own states but outsiders cannot. So, from one non-Iowan to an Iowan, I decided to ask what should no-Iowans stop saying or asking true Iowans.

Let's just say, there is A LOT you should avoid saying to an Iowan, but I decided to narrow it down to the top 10 that will probably get you booted out of the state if you say these.

1.
Get your facts straight people! It's corn!

2.
This isn't children of the corn- there is more than just corn! Helpful tip: try avoiding anything having to do with corn, whether it has to do with eating corn, growing it, or liking it. I promise you will make more friends without the stupid corn questions.

3.
YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED...

4.
I did not know of the Nebraska/Iowa rivalry until I got here but honestly just get your facts straight and you will be fine. Actually... just don't mention Nebraska in general.

5.
These are fighting words depending on where you live in Iowa.

6.
You won't just start a war but basically all of the midwest with these fighting words.

7.
I have never heard this one but seems a little harsh, don't you think?

8.
People need to learn how to use a map.

9.
I mean, who wouldn't get offended by this?

10.
This one explains itself....
