The first teaser trailer for Zoolander 2 is currently playing in theaters with Mission: Impossible – Rogue Nation. It was leaked online yesterday, and Paramount quickly yanked it — but the studio has released the official version online today, and it’s asking some very heavy questions about life, the universe and existence.

More specifically: if God exists, then why did he make ugly people?

The Zoolander 2 (or 2oolander) teaser opens with a voiceover from the legendary Stephen Hawking, who guides us through the beauty and chaos of the creation of the universe and man, pondering the complex network of our minds. Cut to: Ben Stiller’s Derek Zoolander, still as ridiculously good looking as ever, and still just as moronic. Stiller doesn’t look like he’s aged much at all since the first film hit theaters in 2001.

Derek doesn’t understand puns, though, so instead of getting the hilariously titled 2oolander, we’ll be getting Zoolander 2. That’s fair. We can’t go around expecting beautiful people to be smart.

Stiller directed the sequel, which largely takes place in Europe and is based on a script by Justin Theroux (Tropic Thunder). Owen Wilson will reprise his role as Hansel, with Will Ferrell’s Mugatu, Kristen Wiig, Christine Taylor, Penelope Cruz, Billy Zane, Fred Armisen, Kyle Mooney, Justin Bieber, Kim Kardashian and Ariana Grande. (And probably way more than that.)

Zoolander 2 hits theaters on February 12, 2016, the same day as Deadpool. Do you think the Merc With a Mouth can pull off Blue Steel?
