Cedar Valley Friends of the Family's safe shelter is a last resort for victims of domestic and sexual abuse who are in need of safety. Having this shelter as an option has dramatically changed the lives of thousands of women and children who have called it their "temporary home." However, it has been over a decade since the facility's last renovation, and it has seen incredible wear-and-tear.

The shelter doors are coming off the hinges, windows don't open and close properly, and the roof is in need of a partial replacement. The shelter has secured $40,000 grant  through the Iowa Northland Regional Council of Governments (INRCOG) to add bed space in the shelter.

In order to receive these funds, however, the shelter needs to raise a minimum of $12,000 to put toward the project.

The Cedar Valley Friends Of The Family is asking for the public's help in restoring its shelter back to its beautiful condition; a place where women and children fleeing violent abuse can lay their heads at night, knowing they are safe.
Please consider giving to help with these critical repairs. Donations can be made quickly and securely online HERE. Please leave them a comment that you are giving to the shelter fund.
