A Northeast Iowa woman faces a slew of charges after leading authorities on a chase through Oelwein.

The incident started at about 1:20am today (Thursday, Dec. 15), when a Fayette County deputy attempted to pull over a vehicle on 8th Avenue in Oelwein.

The driver refused to stop, and led officers from the Fayette County Sheriff and Oelwein Police on a pursuit through the streets of Oelwein, exceeding posted speed limits.

The chase ended when the driver, identified as 23 year old Kashell Allison of Arlington, crashed her car near the intersection of 7th Street SE and 1st Avenue SE in Oelwein.

Allison was taken into custody on charges of: possession of methamphetamine with the intent to deliver less than five grams, Eluding, possession of prescription pills, operating while intoxicated first offense, speeding, three stop sign violations, and failure to maintain control.

The Fayette County Sheriff was assisted by the Oelwein Police Department, Iowa Department of motor vehicle enforcement, the Mercy Ambulance service.
