I was on Facebook today, and I saw someone put this picture up for "Throwback Thursday".

It really made me reminisce about all the hours and hours I spent playing "The Oregon Trail" in Elementary school. The Oregon Trail on some level had good values in the lessons of survival in life. It was so fun that we didn't even notice how crappy the graphics really were back then.

All thought the Internet was invented in the mid 1980's, no one really knew much about it, and interacting with someone was not even a possibility.  It didn't matter. The only thing that mattered was getting farther along on that dusty Oregon Trail than we did the last time.

Here's to you, "The Oregon Trail." The first video game I played as a kid, and it’s still better than any of those virtual games of today’s flash graphics generation.
