Weather conditions are being sited as factors in two Fayette County accidents Wednesday (Jan. 25).


The first one, shortly after 2pm, happened on County Road C-33, just west of Westgate. A vehicle driven by 78 year old Verla Jurgensen of Maynard was eastbound when it went out of control. The vehicle left the road and entered a ditch. Jurgensen was not hurt, and there was minimal damage to the 2007 Chevrolet Colorado.

The second accident occurred just before 8:30pm at the intersection of W-33 and Highway 3, east of Oelwein. A car driven by 47 year old Linda Jellings of Fayette left the road and entered the ditch. Jellings was not injured, and there was no damage to the 1988 Buick Electra.

Both accidents remain under investigation by the Fayette County Sheriff's Office.
