A Waverly teenager was injured in a single-vehicle accident in northern Black Hawk County Tuesday afternoon.

Sheriff's deputies responded to the crash in the 5600 block of East Cedar Wapsi Road (County Road C-57) around 12:30 p.m. When they arrived at the scene, authorities found a car in a treeline on the north side of the highway.

According to sheriff's officials, Kali Reichert, 17, was driving eastbound when the vehicle dropped off onto the south shoulder. Authorities said she over-corrected and lost control. The car crossed the roadway and entered the north ditch, then traveled through a fence and into a grove of trees.

Reichert was transported to a Waterloo hospital to be treated for injuries that deputies described as non-life threatening. Her condition has not been released.

Black Hawk County sheriff's officials continue to investigate the accident.
