The lights have gone dark at an area movie theatre after nearly 100 years in operation.

Waverly Palace Theatre announced on Facebook overnight that the venue has immediately closed. According to the post, the venue was having cash flow troubles caused by a low volume of customers.

The theater's owner stated: "It's no longer viable to operate (Palace Theatre) under its current business structure."

Unfortunately for customers with outstanding passes, there are no plans to honor them since the theater is out of money.

According to the website cinematreasures.org, Palace Theatre opened in Waverly around 1927 as a single screen theatre. The venue was turned into a tri-plex during a 1999 remodeling.
