A Waterloo school official is facing a charge of driving while intoxicated.

40 year old Amber Dietz, the principal at Kingsley Elementary School, was pulled over by Black Hawk County deputies Friday night at Hillcrest Road and Ridgeway Avenue in Waterloo.

A test indicated Dietz had a blood alcohol content of .159, just shy of twice the legal limit of .08%, to operate a vehicle.

Dietz, who is originally from Nashua, is being charged with OWI first offense.

There is no indication on how the arrest will affect her status as principal at Kingsley Elementary in Waterloo.
