One person is dead in a one-vehicle accident in Waterloo, however details are lacking on how it happened.

The wreck was discovered by a passerby at about 6:30 AM Sunday; the vehicle was found at the bottom of an overpass at Highway 218 and Broadway Street, in the midst of grass and trees.

Waterloo Police found the vehicle empty, but upon investigation, discovered the victim apparently was ejected; his body was found along the path of the wreckage.

A preliminary investigation determined the driver was headed north on 218, when the car went off the road and rolled down the embankment.

The person's name has not been released.
