A Waterloo man was arrested today (Thursday, 6/4) after a short standoff with authorities.

At about 2:00 this afternoon, Black Hawk County Sheriff Deputies received information that 36 year old Brent Boggess as at his home on Madison Street. Boggess has two active warrants for his arrest, for Assault and Fail to Appear in Court.

Boggess armed himself with a knife, refused to come out and barricaded himself inside the home along with an adult female and a child . The Black Hawk County Sheriff SWAT Team was called out and a Sheriff's Office crisis negotiator convinced Bogges to peacefully surrender at 3:23 pm. Deputies were assisted by the Waterloo Police Department.
