A Waterloo man who allegedly attacked and tried to kill his wife is facing multiple charges.

Reuben A. Stigler, 50, was arrested Monday night (March 23, 2015).

He was taken to the Black Hawk County jail on charges of attempted murder, willful serious injury, going armed with intent, domestic abuse-aggravated assault and false imprisonment. His bond was set at $500,000.

Officers were called to 201 Allen Street in Waterloo shortly after 8 p.m. on Monday.

According to Waterloo police captain Dave Mohlis, officers found Angelia O'Connell, 40, bleeding profusely with multiple stab wounds when they arrived at the apartment. Mohlis said Stigler was still inside the apartment and was taken into custody.
