Some of the popping sounds Waterloo residents heard on Independence Day, were gunshots, not fireworks.

No one has been reported injured in the incidents, however two homes were hit.

According to sources, someone from a passing vehicle fired shots near the corner of Campbell Avenue and Marsh Street -- about one block from the six corners intersection -- shortly after 9 p.m. Monday (July 4, 2016). Two nearby houses were struck.

The incidents remain under investigation by Waterloo Police.
