A Waterloo man faces charges after he crashed his vehicle into a Northeast Iowa library.

The incident happened yesterday (Tuesday, March 28) just before 4:30pm in Aurora.

Buchanan County authorities found a vehicle had been driven into the front of the Aurora Library, which also houses the Comet Community Center.

The driver, identified as 28 year old Jerod Siebel of Waterloo, drove off. He was later stopped on Highway 187, south of Lamont.

Seibel faces charges of OWI, Unlawful Possession of Prescription Drugs, First Degree Criminal mischief, Open Container, Reckless Driving, Careless Driving, a stop sign violation, and no proof of insurance.

Damage to the building in Aurora was extensive; also a water pipe was broken off, flooding a portion of the building.
