The No.1 Wartburg Knights (18-0) wrestling team compete today at the 2014 NCAA Division III Central Regional Championships at Five Flags Center in downtown Dubuque, IA.  Regional Championship action begins at 9:00 a.m.

There are six regional sites which will produce 180 qualifiers for the NCAA Championships. The top three finishers at each weight punch their ticket to Cedar Rapids, Iowa, March 14-15. Follow each regional as the field is set.

The Iowa Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (IIAC) will have all eight teams in action - including Wartburg.  Former IIAC member Cornell College (11-5) now apart of the Midwest Conference, will also be there.  Augustana College (11-6) of the CCIW and Knox College (Midwest Conference) will also compete.

110 wrestlers will challenge for the top three spots in each of the ten weight classes. Those top three spots will earn automatic spots in the NCAA Division III Wrestling Championships. New in 2014, there will be no at-large process for entry. Qualification is limited to the top three finishers in each weight class at each of the six sites, totaling 180 wrestlers.

Schedule of Events:

  • 9:00 am – Championship First Round
  • 10:15 am – Championship Quarterfinals
  • 1:00 pm – Consolation Rounds, Championship Semifinals
  • 3:00 pm – Consolation Semifinals
  • 5:00 pm – Championship, Third Place, and Fifth Place matches
