The Wartburg Knights football team showed it deserves its number seven ranking easily handling Coe College 43-0 on Saturday, October 11, 2014.  The Knights improved to 5-0 on the year and 2-0 in Iowa Conference play.

The big win marked the first shutout for the Orange and Black since the 73-0 season opener against MacMurray in 2012.

Wartburg quarterback Logan Schrader passed for three touchdowns and 259 yards.  Runningbacks Brandon Domeyer & Brandon Richardson combined for two of the team's three rushing TD's and 136 yards.

Classmate Gunner Tranel (Vinton) led the defense with 12 total tackles (eight solo and four assists).

As a team, Wartburg registered six sacks for a loss of 45 yards.

The Knights return to the gridiron next week as they host Dubuque in 1:30 p.m. for the Homecoming game.
