Junior Marc Ellis had a career-high 17 points in Wartburg's 67-57 Iowa Conference opening win against Luther on Wednesday, January 7, 2015.

Ellis tied his previous career high with 12 points in the first half alone.

Sophomore Jordan Cannon (Bolingbrook, Ill.) joined him in double digits with 20 points, just two shy of his career-best. He tallied 12 points in the second frame.

The Knights move to 8-4 on the season and 1-0 in IIAC play, while the Norse fall to 4-8 and 0-1.

The first half remained close as neither team led by more than six points and was tied six times. The Orange and Black took the 35-32 lead at halftime and held Luther to a .308 team field goal percentage in the second frame to seal the win.

The Norse fouled down the stretch, but were unable to score on their last-effort plays.
