The sixth-ranked Wartburg Knights continued their dominance of the Iowa Conference. The Knights grabbed a huge road win beating Buena Vista University, 43-24 on November 1, 2014. Freshman Brandon Richardson put his name into the orange and black record books.

An explosive twenty-four point second quarter helped push Wartburg to a 31-3 halftime lead. Although BVU mustered up a three-touchdown second half, it was not enough to capture the win. The Knights improve to 8-0 overall and 5-0 in Iowa Conference games and sole possession of the conference lead.

Richardson (Rock Island, IL / Rock Island H.S.) rushed for 146-yards and 1 touchdown including a record-breaking 96-yard touchdown run. The old mark was set by Trevor Shannon against Luther for 90-yards. Brandon Domeyer (Manchester, IA / West Delaware H.S.) add 98-yards on the ground and 1 touchdown. Quarterback Logan Schrader (Kildeer, IL / Dunlap H.S.) passed for 213-yards and 1 touchdown.

The orange and black defense was led by Will Janssen (Mediapolis, IA / Mediapolis H.S.) with 11 tackles (7 solo, 4 assisted). Gunner Tannel (Vinton, IA / Vinton-Shellsburg H.S.) added 8 tackles (5 solo, 3 asissted).

Next up, the Wartburg Knights travel to Indianola, IA to take on Simpson College. Kick-off is set for 1:00 PM on Saturday.
