Wartburg Football Beat Luther, Move to 7-0 on Year

A dominating defensive performance helped the Wartburg Knights move to 7-0 and 4-0 in Iowa Conference play on October 25, 2014.  The Knights rolled over the Luther Norse, 52-7.

Wartburg held the Norse to only 193 yards of offense and forced three funbles. Vinton-Shellsburg alum Gunner Tranel led the defense with 12 total tackles (eight solo, four assists).  Drew Kooi racked up 9 tackles (seven solo, two assists).

The Knights tallied 408 yards of offense.  Logan Schrader finished 15-21-0 for 252 yards and two touchdowns. Brandon Richardson had a team-high 38 yards on the ground and was closely followed by 34 from Brandon Domeyer.

Next weekend, Wartburg travels to Buena Vista University to battle for the Iowa Conference lead.  It's a battle of 4-0 teams in the Iowa Conference in Storm Lake, Iowa.  Kick-off is set for 1:00 PM.
