Voters in the Central Community School District in Elkader are going to the polls today, to decide on a $6.75 million general obligation bond.

The money would be used for furnishing, equipping, constructing, improving, repairing, and renovating the existing middle and high school buildings as well as elementary buildings in Elkader.

School officials are loooking at constructing new special education classroms, an elemetary music room, a new weight room and multi-purpose wrestling room, new locker rooms and new media center.

Polls will be open from 7am to 8pm today (Tuesday).

The bond would need a super-majority of 60% voter approval to pass.
