UPS Truck Collides with Ag LP Truck Near Hawkeye
A UPS truck driver from Northeast Iowa is being charged with causing a two-vehicle accident.
It happened just before 2pm Tuesday, December 29th, at the intersection of "R" Avenue and 180th Street, south of Hawkeye in rural Fayette County.
A UPS truck, driven by 47 year old Tracy Northup of Decorah, was approaching a stop sign on 180th, but was not able to brake soon enough, and entered the intersection, where it was struck by an Ag Vantage LP truck, driven by 57 year old David Wisecup of Independence.
No one was injured, but the two vehicles were totaled.
Northrup was charged with failure to obey a stop sign.
The Fayette County Sheriff was assisted by the Iowa DOT and Hawkeye Fire Department.
