UPDATE: Local Man Killed In Cedar Falls Accident

Authorities have released the name of the driver killed in a single-vehicle accident in Cedar Falls Monday afternoon (Nov. 21, 2016).

Police identified the victim as Richard C. Coleman, Jr., 30, of Cedar Falls.

According to investigators, Coleman died when the eastbound vehicle he was driving on U.S. Highway 218 struck a concrete bridge pillar at the Iowa Highway 57 interchange.

Coleman was the only person in the vehicle and died at the scene, Cedar Falls police said. Authorities have not determined what caused the accident.

The crash remains under investigation.
