The Winneshiek County Sheriff's Office has arrested two people who were staying at a rural home, without the owner's knowledge, or permission.


On Thursday (Jan. 3) at about 2pm, authorities got a report from the owner of a residence on 133rd Avenue, in Glenwood Township, east of Decorah, that someone may be staying at his rural home without his knowing it.

After looking into the matter, the Winneshiek County Sheriff found that 40 year old Francis Gorla of Decorah and 37 year old Marcie Reed of Ames, had been unlawfully living in the home.

Gorla and Reed were removed from the residence, and charged with Burglary 3rd Degree.

Gorla was also cited for Failure to Provide Proof of Financial Liability, and Operating a Non-registered Vehicle.
