A two vehicle accident in Black Hawk County sent two people to the hospital Monday morning.

Black Hawk County Sheriff Deputies were called to the accident at the intersection of N. Elk Run Rd and East Cedar Wapsi Rd., where a vehicle operated by 32 year old John Bliss of Readlyn ran a stop sign and collided with a vehicle driven by 46 year old Caroline Ledeboer of Cedar Falls.  According to the Sherrif's report, Bliss' dog jumped on his lap and caused him to run the stop sign.

Bliss received cuts and bruises and Ms. Ledeboer had multiple injuries.  Both were transported to an area hospital for their injuries.

Bliss was charged with Disobeying A Stop Sign and No Insurance.

The Iowa State Patrol and Denver Fire Department assisted at the scene.
