Three Hurt In Waterloo Construction Accidents
Authorities are investigating a pair of construction accidents that sent three people to the hospital in Waterloo on Monday (June 20, 2016).
Emergency crews responded to the first incident around 9:30 a.m. at the former Hostess Wonder Bread Bakery building downtown, where a renovation project is underway.
According to Waterloo police, a man fell through the roof while construction workers were removing vents. The injured man was taken to a local hospital for treatment.
The second mishap occurred about six-and-a-half hours later a few blocks away.
Around 4 p.m., Waterloo Fire Rescue crews were called to the Cedar Valley TechWorks campus where two construction workers were injured in an accident. Officials said the two workers on a lift when part of a building wall collapsed.
They were also taken to the hospital. Officials said their injuries weren't life-threatening.
Authorities haven't released the names of the injured workers.
