The Northeast Iowa Food Bank is seeking gift wrap donations and volunteers. The Food Bank will be offering a gift-wrapping service to mall shoppers in Waterloo and Cedar Falls in December. All free-will donations received go directly to the Food Bank. Every dollar collected provides up to 4 meals for families in need.

To help with this fundraiser, the Food Bank is seeking volunteers to help wrap gifts December 10 – 24th. If you would like to volunteer this holiday season, please contact Chris Madigan, Volunteer Coordinator at cmadigan@feedingamerica.org or call 319-235-0507.

If you are unable to volunteer, but would still like to help out, please contact the Food Bank to make a donation of money, gift wrap, boxes and other supplies needed for the annual Gift Wrap event.

“We are grateful for those who support us during the holidays. We have seen an increase in the need for food assistance both locally and throughout the 16 counties we serve, and events like this allow us to raise awareness of that need." Barbara Prather - Executive Director of the Northeast Iowa Food Bank.

For more information, call 319-235-0507 or visit www.northeastiowafoodbank.org. And remember to visit the volunteer gift wrappers this Holiday season at Crossroads and College Square Malls.

The Northeast Iowa Food Bank provides nutritious food and grocery products to about 200 nonprofit organizations and programs who assist the hungry, and to individuals who need food assistance to sustain life. Last year, the Food Bank distributed more than 6 million pounds of food within a 16-county service area.
