TWO NORTHEAST IOWA TEENS HAVE PLEADED GUILTY TO THEIR PART IN A HOME INVASION IN INDEPENDENCE LAST MONTH, AND HAVE BEEN SENTENCED TO PRISON.

THE PLEAS WERE MADE TUESDAY (APRIL 29TH) IN BUCHANAN COUNTY DISTRICT COURT IN INDEPENDENCE.
CLAY AND WALZTONI, ALONG WITH ANOTHER SUSPECT, ARE ACCUSED OF BREAKING INTO AN OCCUPIED HOME AT 414 6TH AVENUE NW IN INDEPENDENCE, ON FEBRUARY 11TH.

THE OCCUPANT WOKE UP AND HEARD VOICES IN HIS HOME; UPON INVESTIGATION, HE DISCOVERED THREE PEOPLE ATTEMPTING TO BURGLARIZE THE RESIDENCE.

A FOURTH SUSPECT WAITED OUTSIDE IN AN ESCAPE VEHICLE.

AFTER MAKING THEIR PLEAS, CLAY AND WALZTONI WERE BOTH SENTENCED TO TEN YEARS IN PRISON ON THE ROBBERY AND ATTEMPTED BURGLARY CHARGES, AND FIVE YEARS ON THE ASSAULT COUNT, WITH THE SENTENCES TO BE SERVED CONCURRENTLY TO EACH OTHER; THEY ALSO HAVE TO PAY RESTITUTION AND COURT COSTS.

THE OTHER SUSPECTS WERE IDENTIFIED AS 18 YEAR OLDS NATHAN ROSONKE AND SETH HOLSCHLAG.
