Stefanos Lekkas made 21 saves to lead the Sioux Falls Stampede past the Waterloo Black Hawks 1-0 at Young Arena on Friday, February 27, 2015.

The visiting goaltender’s best save came with 64 seconds remaining in the first period as he gloved a breakaway chance by Tyson McLellan.

With 27.7 seconds left before the first intermission, Sioux Falls broke the seal on the net during a power play for the only goal of the night. Left with room in the slot, Dillon Eichstadt stepped toward the crease and lifted a shot over the right shoulder of Hawks goaltender Cale Morris.

Both teams had three power plays turned aside in the second period. Waterloo finished the night 0-for-5, while Sioux Falls went 1-for-4. Morris made 22 saves in the loss, with the shot count favoring the Stampede 23-21 at the end of the evening.

The weekend fulcrum is a road matchup Saturday against the Dubuque Fighting Saints as part of the Prairie Farms Cowbell Cup Series.
