Workers will be hauling snow from the downtown and College Hill business districts. The city's snow emergency will be in effect from 9 p.m. Tuesday to 6 a.m. Wednesday (Feb. 16-17, 2016).

The parking prohibition will go into effect two hours from the time the declaration is made. Any vehicle blocking traffic or parking in the designated area during the snow emergency will be subject to a citation and tow at the owner’s expense.

The snow emergency ordinance will be in effect for the Parkade and College Hill areas of Cedar Falls only. According to city ordinance, parking is prohibited on streets marked with a sign displaying the words “Emergency Snow Route”.

City officials are encouraging motorists to utilize city parking lots for the duration of the declaration.
