An Oelwein woman, who had been providing day care for children, is being charged with failing to register as a sex offender.
The Fayette County Sheriff recently completed an investigation, and discovered that 29 year old Amber Limkemann of Oelwein had provided day care services for two area families on several occasions, but did not register that employment with the state sex offender registry.

On Friday (Aug. 19) authorities obtained an arrest warrant, charging Limkemann with violation of the state sex offender registry, 2nd offense. She was arrested at her residence and taken to the Fayette County Jail, where she was held on $5,000 bond.

The Department of Human Services was called in, to evalute the families who were given care by Limkemann.

The case is still under investigation, and more charges are possible.
