One small community in Arkansas is fighting to keep prayer in their school.

The Freedom From Religion Foundation, an atheist group, recently sent a letter to the Ashdown School District in Ashdown, Arkensas threatening legal action over claims that adults have been leading and participating in prayers at the school.

The school's Superintendent Jason Sanders says that the district hasn’t done anything wrong.

“We feel like that the freedom of our students to express themselves will hold up in a court of law. We’re not going to stop any student who wants to exercise their freedom of religious expression such as a prayer.” - Superintendent Jason Sanders - KTBS TV

Watch how students and the community stood together at a recent hometown football game.

I'm sure the school hasn't seen the last of the atheist group but one things for sure, the group is going to have one heck of a fight on their hands because a community that prays together, stays together. Stay strong Ashdown!
