School Announcements – Friday, 12/16/2016

As a winter storm targets part of Iowa, some area school districts are cancelling planned activities and/or dismissing classes early on Friday (Dec. 16, 2016).

Check the list below.

Cedar Valley Catholic Schools - Columbus High School basketball game & bowling meet are postponed; Blessed Maria Middle School girls basketball game is postponed.
Clarksville - Dismissing 1 hour early.
Charles City - Dismissing 2 hours early; no evening activities.
Denver - High school basketball games with Jesup postponed.
Dunkerton - Dismissing at 1 p.m. All school and school-related activities are cancelled for the weekend.
Gladbrook-Reinbeck - No activities or practice Friday and Saturday.
Grundy Center - No evening activities
Hudson - All Friday and Saturday activities canceled.
Independence & St. John's - Dismissing at 1:30 p.m.; No evening activities.
Janesville - All evening athletic events postponed to later date.
Jesup & St. Athanasius - No evening activities or practices.
New Hampton - Dismissing 1 hour early.
North Butler - Dismissing at 1 p.m.; No evening activities.
North Fayette Valley - Dismissing at 2 p.m.; No evening activities.
North Tama - High school basketball games with Janesville are postponed to later date.
North Winneshiek - Dismissing at 1:15 p.m.
Oelwein - Dismissing 1 hour, 30 minutes early; No evening activities.
Postville - Dismissing at 1 p.m.
Sumner-Fredericksburg - High school basketball games with Grundy Center, bowling with Charles City and middle school basketball with Jesup have all been postponed.
Starmont - Dismissing 2 hours early; All Friday evening and Saturday activities canceled.
Tripoli - Dismissing at 1:30 p.m.; No after-school childcare; All Friday and Saturday activities postponed.
Turkey Valley - High school basketball games with Edgewood-Colesburg postponed to Tuesday, Jan. 3.
Union - High school basketball games against Hudson are varsity only, starting at 5 p.m.
Vinton-Shellsburg - Dismissing 2 hours early
Wapsie Valley & Community Lutheran - Dismissing at 1:15 p.m. All school and school-related activities are cancelled for the weekend.
Waverly-Shell Rock - High school basketball games with Waukon tonight postponed to Tuesday, Dec. 20
West Central - High school basketball games with Clayton Ridge postponed.
