The Kansas City Royals put an all out assault on the Toronto Blue Jays for a 5-0 win in Game 1 of the 2015 American League Championship Series. Game 2 is this afternoon (Oct 17) at Kauffman Stadium in Kansas City, MO.

The MLB Postseason ALCS will continue this afternoon. Kansas City and Toronto meet in Game 2 on Saturday at 2:30 PM-CT on FOX Sports 1.

FOR KANSAS CITY:
Royals right-hander Edinson Volquez earned his first career postseason win. He gave up only two hits, striking out five, and walked four. Royals' pitcher Catcher Salvador Perez belted a homerun. Shortstop Alcides Escobar went 2-for-3, 2 doubles, 1 RBI.

FOR TORONTO:
It was only the sixth time that the Blue Jays have been shut out this season. It was the first time this year that Toronto went an entire game without an extra-base hit. Blue Jay's first baseman Edwin Encarnacion left the game early because of a sprained ligament in his left middle finger. X-ray's taken during the game came back negative.

Toronto will send Left-hander David Price to the mound for Game 2. Right-hander Yordano Ventura will make his third start of the postseason for Kansas City.
