Road Gives out to Semi Loaded with Beans
A Northeast Iowa road had to be closed down to traffic for several hours Sunday afternoon, when a piece of the road gave-way, to a semi loaded with grain.
The accident happened at about 3:20pm Sunday, on Echo Valley Road, east of West Union. 46 year old Gordon Redvay of Elkader was driving a semi out of a bean field, when he attempted to turn west onto the county road.
While the semi was turning, a portion of the road gave out, and caused the semi-trailer to slide into the ditch.
No one was injured, but the road had to be closed for about 6 hours for the site to be cleared.
The Fayette County Sheriff continues to investigate.
