The IMCA Hawkeye Dirt Tour opens for the fourth time in five years at Benton County Speedway, when the green flag flies on Tuesday, May 19, 2015.

Traveling IMCA Xtreme Motorsports Modifieds race for $1,000 to win and a minimum of $150 to start. If not already qualified, the winner will be added to the 2015 Fast Shafts All-Star Invitational ballot.

Vern Jackson of Waterloo topped the 2011 lidlifter at Benton County. Jeff Waterman of Quincy, Ill., won there in 2012 and Cayden Carter of Oskaloosa paced the 2013 feature.

Last year’s series event was postponed due to inclement weather. Richie Gustin of Gilman won the rescheduled show in August.

All four drivers are expected to return to Vinton tomorrow night. Pit gates will open at 5 p.m. with hot laps at 6:30 p.m. and racing at 7 p.m.

IMCA Sunoco Stock Car and Karl Chevrolet Northern SportMod features both pay $400 to win while IMCA Sunoco Hobby Stocks race for a $200 top check. Also on the card are non-sanctioned micro mods.

Grandstand admis­sion is $15 for adults, $5 for kids and free for five and under. Pit passes are $25. The event will be broadcast via IMCA.TV.
