The Memorial Day Weekend is typically a big racing weekend in Iowa, and this year is no exception.

WEEKLY SHOWS: All four of our weekly racing programs will compete this weekend.

The Farley Speedway starts their Friday program and 7:00 PM featuring IMCA Late Models, IMCA Modifieds, IMCA Stock Cars, IMCA Hobby Stocks, IMCA SportMods, and Two-Man Cruisers. Members of the Kids Racing Club will get a chance to meet the drivers during intermission.

It’s a “Salute to Military” Friday night at the Marshalltown Speedway (7:30 PM). IMCA Modifieds, IMCA Sotck Cars, IMCA Hobby Stocks, IMCA SportMods, and Mod Lights will compete.

The Independence Motor Speedway will start hotlaps on Saturday night at 6:30. Racing will follow for the IMCA Late Models, IMCA Modifieds, IMCA Stock Cars, IMCA Hobby Stocks, IMCA SportMods, and the Indee Cars.

The Benton County Speedway will start hotlaps at 6:00 PM this Sunday night. IMCA Late Models, IMCA Modifieds, IMCA Sotck Cars, IMCA Hobby Stocks, IMCA SportMods, & the BCS Micro Mods will all be racing that night.

RACING SPECIALS: There are a handful of traveling series making stops close by.

The USMTS Modifieds and the USRA Iron Man Series make two stops close to the area. On Saturday night, both will be in competition at the Deer Creek Speedway in Spring Valley, MN (just over the Minnesota border. Hotlaps are slated for 5:30 PM. On Sunday night, both will head south to Decorah and race at the Upper Iowa Speedway. Hotlaps will hit the track at 6:00 PM.

The IMCA Hawkeye Dirt Tour makes its annual Memorial Day Stop at Mason City’s I-35 Speedway. Hotlaps roll at 6:00 PM on the big half-mile. The night before will be the $1,000 to win Skip Rose Memorial. The top IMCA Modified drivers are expected both nights.

Once again the IMCA Deery Brothers Summer Series will at the Boone Speedway on Memorial Day. Hotlaps are set for 4:00 PM.
